Duplex Stainless Steel Rising Stem Gate valves

The stem will rise above the hand wheel if the valve is opened in the Rising Stem type duplex steel valves. This happens because the stem is threaded and mated with the bushing threads of a Yoke. A Yoke is an integral part from a Rising Stem valve and is mounted to the Bonnet.

Duplex Steel Non Rising Stem Gate valves

There is no upward stem movement if the valve is opened in the non Rising Stem type duplex steel gate valves. The stem is threaded into the disk itself. The disk travels up or down the stem on the threads while the stem remains vertically stationary when the hand wheel on the stem is rotated in this type of valve,

The disk of a duplex steel Gate valve is completely removed when the valve is fully open; the disk is fully drawn up direction in to the valve Bonnet. This mechanism leaves an opening for flow through the valve at the same inside diameter as the pipes line at the point where these valves are installed. Duplex stainless steel Gate valves have three main body parts: body itself , bonnet, and trim. The body is the main carrier usually connected to other equipment or service pipe line by means of various end connection options like flanged, screwed or welded end connections. The bonnet, which containing the moving parts, is generally attached to the body with bolts to permit maintenance operations easily.

The valve trim component consists of the stem, the gate, the disc or wedge and the seat rings.
